Anudip Foundation creates job opportunities within the new economy for impoverished youth, women, and minorities in rural and semi-urban areas of India. Through an integrated model of IT-based job skills training, job placement, and entrepreneurship, it creates opportunities for communities to improve social and economic conditions on a broader scale.Anudip bridges the gap between traditional schooling and the skills needed to achieve a sustainable livelihood. In addition to training and placement services, the DREAM entrepreneurship program offers mentoring and assistance with initial startup financing.Since 2006, Anudip has trained over 8,000 students and successfully placed 80% in jobs across a variety of sectors. Omidyar Network's grant will help Anudip scale its training programs and services to reach tens of thousands of people in India.
