World Comics India (WCI) is a collective of grassroots activists, cartoonists, artists, development journalists, students, and other like-minded people who use comics as a communication tool, as well as a medium for self-expression. WCI's grassroots comics are drawn by common people, often in remote or vulnerable communities, and seek to reflect their understanding of the social world.

We funded World Comics India under the Digital Society Challenge to run workshops to train participants to express themselves through grassroots comics, draw out their experiences with the mobile phone, and showcase these on social media. Under this program, World Comics India will organise six workshops, create short informational videos, and create comics booklets on digital safety.
