Alumni Organisation
Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) is a Delhi-based social enterprise focused on increasing the participation of young people in the democratic process and building their capacity to lead change. Founded by Harvard and Oxford alumni in 2016, YLAC's interventions are designed to equip citizens with a better understanding of the society they live in and the challenges that it confronts. The aim is to help young people broaden their perspective, think critically about their socio-political construct, tap their leadership potential and acquire skills to create long-lasting impact.
Digital Citizenship is a core part of YLAC's work across programs. The organisation is currently working in 10+ cities and is continuing to expand across and beyond India. We funded Young Leaders for Active Citizenship under the Digital Society Challenge to run Digital Champions, a pilot program in 30 affordable private schools to equip high-school children to better mitigate risks online like misinformation and loss of privacy.
