Our investment approach is to create a holistic impact on the Next Half Billion by supporting entrepreneurs. Towards this end, we invest in start-ups that serve the NHB. For a more meaningful and large-scale impact, we also support a much wider range of efforts such as research and awareness building efforts, developmental organisations, as well as orgs supporting government initiatives.

NOTE: In 2019, Omidyar Network India was conceptualised as an autonomous investment advisory firm with a new mandate, having been separated from the global organisation Omidyar Network. Focused on an India-specific strategy and investment thesis developed by an Indian team, Omidyar Network India operates independently to provide advice on investment opportunities that support local development priorities and deepen the work in its chosen areas of investment. The focus areas of this “new” (post-separation) firm and the related investments are detailed on this page and other parts of this website.
