Omidyar Network Commits $2.1M to the Foundation for Ecological Security to Secure Rights to Common Land for India’s Poor
The Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) enables rural India to access legal rights to share, self-govern, and conserve common land. The organisation represents landless communities and organizes long-term secure tenure to the next half billion. By establishing formalised rights and using a bottom-up approach to resource management, FES ensures that the commons are governed to support individual livelihoods as well as environmental sustainability.
